Why to Verify GSTIN?
Goods and Services Tax Identification Number is used in various purposes of business. Every person must verify the GST identification number before making a deal.
You need to verify the GST Identification Number due to following reasons-
- GST Identification Number simplifies the process of filing tax invoices to the customer and dealers. This also helps in expediting the process of correct return filing.
A Taxpayer does not have to mention all the details related to the business and the address of his customers and dealers.
They just have to mention the correct GST Identification Number of the buyer and seller.
For this purpose, it is necessary to verify Goods and Services Tax Identification Number. - If you are paying Goods and Services Tax to the dealer, then you must confirm whether they are providing you a correct GSTIN or not.
If you paid tax to a person who is not actually registered for GST and does not possess real GSTIN, then you may not receive any input tax credit for that purchase or tax payment. - It is also necessary to verify the GST Number of the customer in case of selling goods and providing services.
If your customer provided you the incorrect GST number, then you may find trouble in submitting the returns.
